Another huge influx of members last year has taken Liftshare to new heights of popularity. Over 65,000 people signed up to the Liftshare network since last January, taking the total number of individuals wanting to reap the rewards of car-sharing to 350,000.
"We've been running car-share schemes for 11 years, yet nearly 20 per cent of new members registered in the last year alone," said Liftshare's founder Ali Clabburn. "This really goes to show how the popularity of car-sharing is ever-increasing.
"There's a recession on, petrol prices creep relentlessly up and everyone is more aware than ever of their personal impact on the environment. As one of our members, Mark in Ely, told us: starting to car-share is 'a satisfying step in the right direction'!"
