400,000 people sign up to car-shareFollowing the nationwide success of the first ever Liftshare Week, a phenomenal 400,000 people have now signed up to the UK's largest car-sharing network.

"During Liftshare Week itself, a new member was joining every minute of the working day," said founder Ali Clabburn. "It was fantastic to witness, and has helped us reach this landmark figure faster than expected!

"The fact that over 150,000 members have joined in the past two years alone just goes to show how fast car-sharing is growing in popularity."

Member feedback indicates that the ongoing recession, petrol prices and an increasing concern for environmental issues are the main reasons that so many people are wanting to car-share. As one member, Kathryn, told us: "Liftsharing is not only environmentally-friendly, it saves me a small fortune in petrol and servicing my car. I was also very relieved not to be travelling on my own in the bad weather last winter."
