Campaign to increase car-sharing wins national award

The first ever week dedicated to encouraging people to car-share has been named "Marketing Campaign of the Year" by the UK's flagship network for organisations promoting sustainable travel.

Liftshare Week won the ACT TravelWise award for its "innovative" and "eye-catching" campaign, which was based on the Wild West "wanted" poster and urged drivers not to be "a lone ranger". It was commended for its innovative approach, strong theme and consistent messages.

"It was fantastic to win this award against such stiff competition," said Communications Manager Cecilia Bromley-Martin. "Although we worked very hard on it, we also had a lot of fun with it - and I think this positive feeling was infectious, and helped make it such a success."

Having received an unprecedented number of entries for this year's awards, the judges called Liftshare Week "a thoroughly deserving winner from a very competitive field".
