Remember 1983? If you were around then, you were probably dancing to Michael Jackson's latest hit, Billie Jean. Did you wear ripped sweatshirts or were you more a fan of shoulder pads? Perhaps you were sporting a trendy mullet??
One thing is for sure: if you were driving in 1983, you were only paying about 37p a litre.
But before that brings you close to tears, there’s something you should know: you still CAN effectively pay 37p a litre for petrol, if you just share your car with three other people!
It's liftshare Week from 3-7 October, and we want drivers to relive those petrol prices they used to know back in the 1980s and 1990s, by simply sharing their cars with 1, 2 or 3 other people. Share your commute with just one other person, and you will be leaving your car at home 2 weeks out of every four – typically saving yourself about £800 a year.
Make sure you have found your car-sharer(s) in time for Liftshare Week. It couldn’t be easier to discover the huge benefits of car-sharing (financial, social, environmental, stress-reducing). Just sign up to this free website, do a search for others going the same way, and then drop them a line to suggest you try sharing...
