Further to liftshare.com being awarded the Big Tick standard in June we are delighted to announce that liftshare.com has now been voted the UK 's national example for excellence in the environmental impact category.
liftshare.com was presented the award by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales at the Business in the Community National Gala Award dinner at the Albert Hall on 6 th July. Sir Steve Redgrave then presented Managing Director and founder of liftshare.com Ali Clabburn an oak tree sapling.
Ali had this to say:
“I am thrilled to be receiving this award tonight. We were up against some incredibly strong competition and we pleased simply to get as far as being short listed. To have our dedicated team's work recognised in this way is fantastic. To win is a great honour and a tremendous boost to car sharing as a whole.”
The Business in the Community's Awards for Excellence, held in association with the Financial Times and sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry, recognise companies integrating responsible business practices into their mainstream operations and who are having a positive impact on the environment, workplace, marketplace and in the community.
To win this award liftshare.com beat off strong competition from companies such as Scottish Power, Toyota and Kent Art Printers.
