Why is Abba playing in my head? Money, money, money... Ah yes, because this is without doubt the biggest reason that Liftshare members car-share. And with good cause! Certainly, the environmental, social, safety and accessibility factors play a big part in motivating many people to car-share. But the reason which comes up time and again is: car-sharing saves me a LOT of money.
Don't believe us? Just ask these guys (and they are only a small handful of the many we could quote!):
"Without sharing, my commuting petrol bill would be over £200 per month. With the current arrangements, I can at least halve that, saving over £100 of after-tax money every month. I calculate this is equivalent to a pay rise of about £1,700." Norman in Preston
"I have a 96-mile round trip to work every day. Car-sharing is saving me £60 a week." Gregor in Belfast
"I save £100 per month - which is enough to pay for my car!" Claire Louise in Falkirk
"If I couldn't Liftshare my daily commute, I would be unable to make my commute at all! Liftsharing saves me £40 per week, or £1.8k annually." Thomas in Cardiff
So if none of the recent blogs have convinced you to give car-sharing a try, ask yourself what you could do with (on average) £800 extra spending money a year... then once the joyful anticipation kicks in, just sign up and find someone to share your journeys with!
