Recent warnings predict that the price of petrol is likely to reach £1 a litre by the summer. As a result car sharing is becoming ever more popular - and necessary!
Liftshare.com - the UK's leading car share provider currently has a membership of over 110,000 members and looks set to rise dramatically over the next few months as motorist become increasing desperate to find ways to cut their fuel costs.
Not only is liftshare matching up drivers and passengers all over the UK to enable members to halve their fuel costs but they have also teamed up with Petrolprices.com, a new website, which allows visitors to find out where they can buy the cheapest fuel locally.
Petrolprices.com is free to join, and updated every day with the prices of petrol, diesel, LRP and LPG fuels at over 8000 stations around the UK. The savings vary from town to town but some people are regularly saving up to £5 a tank.
It's not only the raising fuel prices which are creating demand for car sharing. Events planned across the summer such as National liftshare Day - 14th June, the major summer festivals and commencement of work on pilot HOV lanes along several of Britain's motorways all means that this summer looks set to be the summer for car sharing.
