Help for commuters affected by strike on UK's busiest train line
29/07/2009

A convenient solution is being offered to the hundreds of thousands of rail passengers on the country's busiest train line who will be affected by the National Express walk-out.

TrainStrike.com is a free website where rail commuters can look for someone to share their journey to work by car.

Members do not need to have a car. They can either offer a lift, or do a search for someone who is happy to drive in return for a contribution to fuel costs. For those forced to drive, taking a passenger or two for a long commute can save a significant proportion of their travel expenses; for those without access to a car, it provides a convenient and inexpensive way to get into the office.

Commuters affected by the strikes just need to log onto www.TrainStrike.com, register details of the journey they need to make and do a search for someone else going their way. There are tens of thousands of live members already on the network, so there is a good chance they will find a suitable match.
