Liftshare's TubeStrike.com is a free website where underground-users can look for someone to share their journey by car instead.
For those forced to drive by the strike, taking a passenger or two can save a significant proportion of your travel expenses and help others out. But if you don't have your own car, the site can help you someone going the same way who is happy to drive in return for a contribution to fuel costs.
Anyone affected by the strike can just log onto www.TubeStrike.com, register details of the journey they need to make and do a search for someone else going their way. There are already thousands of members on the network in the London area, so there is a good chance they will find a suitable match.
The red dots on the image (above right) show the 23,000+ members of the Liftshare car-sharing network - which includes TubeStrike.com - within the M25.
