For a start, Liftsharers constantly tell us how they get the moans of the day out of their system as they travel home together. By venting your frustrations to someone less emotionally-involved, you arrive home happier.
Tom in Lancaster told us, for instance: "Chatting to my Liftshare friends is a good way to unwind - which makes me a nicer person when I get home, apparently!"
Even better for life on the home front: the routine you have on the days you car-share really helps the work-life balance.
As the Transport for London 'Car-share guide' says, liftsharing ensures you leave on time. Something Emma in Swindon agrees with. She travels 45 miles each way on her daily commute to Reading. But as she works flexi-time, she often didn't leave home until around 10am, not getting back again until about 8pm. All that changed when she started car-sharing, and leaving for work at an agreed, earlier hour.
"Now I get home about 5.15pm," she told us. "This gives my husband and me so much more time for ourselves and each other, whether through exercise, DIY or simply a drink in the evening sun. I'm also a lot less tired and stressed which pleases him!"
