Ali Clabburn, founder of liftshare.com, was obviously pleased that his company was being seen as a role-model for other businesses:
“Corporate Social Responsibility lies at the core of our work and is central to the Liftshare brand. We're overjoyed that our work is being recognised in this way and would encourage other businesses to get involved in car-sharing and other forms of CSR.”
liftshare.com was established in 1997 with the aim of ‘encouraging and enabling more efficient use of the car'. The company provides a free car-sharing service at www.liftshare.com and also works with Local Authorities and companies to assist them in reducing single-occupancy car-use.
The CBI's mission is to help create and sustain the conditions in which businesses in the United Kingdom can compete and prosper for the benefit of all. As part of their work t he CBI and Article 13 have teamed up to profile companies who are doing innovative work in CSR, companies from whom CBI members can learn.
Updated quarterly, each profile examines why the company is implementing CSR initiatives, the successes and failures, and how the programmes are delivering to the company's business objectives.
