“I joined the liftshare website about 6 months ago looking to see whether there was a genuinely convenient person I could travel with. I travel by car as it takes at least three times longer to get to work by bus. However, it would also be nice to minimise the wear and tear on my car. Within 2 days of registering, I was contacted by someone who lives close by, exactly on my route, who doesn't drive. While this does not (yet) save me wear and tear, it does bring in a modest income towards petrol, and still saves my colleague over 50% of his previous travel expenses and around 2 hours a day. When he passes his test i'm hoping we can share the driving responsibilities!”
